Negotiations are continuing between Minnesota Legislative leaders and the Governor with hopes of holding a special session next month. Minnesota Farm Bureau Public Policy Director Amber Hanson says it’s looking more likely that may happen the third week of August. She says her group and agriculture’s top priority is for lawmakers to pass tax relief.

She says the tax bill is being held up by other issues such as bonding and transportation.

Hanson says the other priority for Farm Bureau and other farm groups is funding for rural infrastructure projects in Minnesota.

Hanson says immediate resolution is needed on the tax bill and infrastructure funding and the only way to address those is through the special legislative session.
