Minnesota Farm Bureau President Kevin Paap is participating in two trade missions in Central and South America this week. He’s traveling with a trade group led by USDA Undersecretary Ted McKinney to Colombia this week and then heads to Peru with a group led by Minnesota Ag Commissioner Thom Petersen. Paap says the trips are an opportunity to showcase several ag commodities to potential customers in both countries.

He says the Minnesota group attending the Peru trade mission represents a number of agriculture organizations.

Paap says they hope to showcase both grains and livestock to the buyers from the two countries. He says while they’re not as big a market as Colombia, Peru is still an important one.
