Minnesota Corn Growers Association leaders have put out a call-to-action to their members regarding needed changes to the state’s buffer law. President Harold Wolle says the call is urgent with the legislature adjourning May 22. He says implementation of the law must be delayed until November of 2018 to allow time for alternative practices to be added to the buffer rule.

He says their members need to pressure the Governor to delay implementation of the law, so it can work effectively and efficiently for everyone.

Wolle is hoping most of their 3,100 members respond to the call-to-action and convince state legislators to work with Governor Dayton to solve the problem.

Wolle says there are positives in the buffer law including bank stabilization and wildlife habitat.
