President Trump’s decision to have the United States withdraw from the Paris Climate Agreement is getting mixed reviews. South Dakota Farm Bureau President Scott VanderWal says have advocated for this action for some time now and think it just makes sense.
However, Matt Ohloff, Senior Campaign Organizer for Iowa Citizens for Community Improvement says the Trump administration is being foolish pulling out of the Paris agreement.
VanderWal says one of the major problems with the Paris Pact is that other countries that signed the agreement don’t take actions to lower greenhouse gas emissions. As a result, those costs get dumped on the U.S.
Ohloff says the U.S. is a top contributor to climate change, second only to China, and has a duty to reduce its environmental footprint.
