Missing Federal Prisoner Captured in Northeast Nebraska

Missing inmate Johnny Carl Tiner was apprehended in a corn field in Cedar County, Nebraska around 4PM Saturday afternoon. Staff from the Cedar County Sheriff’s Office took Tiner into custody. He will be transferred to the custody of the U.S. Marshall Service. Tiner was discovered missing from the minimum security Federal Prison Camp in Yankton at approximately 1:40 AM Saturday morning.

Tiner was sentenced in the Northern District of Texas to 120 months for Felon in Possession of a Firearm, with a projected release date of February 13, 2021.

The Federal Prison Camp at Yankton is a minimum security facility that houses approximately 485 male offenders.
