Your January utility bill will likely be higher following the recent cold snap.  Bill Grant with the Minnesota Department of Commerce says if you anticipate having problems paying your bill, consider applying for energy assistance through the (LIHEAP) Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program

 

Grant says the average assistance is around 500-dollars.  If you were not sure where to apply, you can always reach out to your utility provider for assistance.
