Minnesotans Buying Less

Minnesotans are not buying as much these days, and that in part has caused tax collections to slide over the past few months. State budget officials say Minnesota took in $97 million less in taxes since July 1st. St. Cloud State University economics professor King Banaian says not to worry just yet.

On the bright side, the state legislature left a big chunk of cash on its bottom line and has built up a hefty budget reserve.
