Minnesota’s workplace injuries and illnesses for 2017 were at the lowest rate since 1973.

Department of Labor and Industry Commissioner Ken Peterson says in the past 15 years, Minnesota has seen a 40-percent decrease in its rate of work-related injuries and illnesses. He says the decrease is due in part to technological advances in workplace safety, and employers are generally more safety cautious than in years past.
