During their special session this week, Minnesota’s House and Senate approved the bonding bill containing Section 179 tax conformity. State Farm Bureau Public Policy Director Amber Hanson Glaeser says that’s been a priority of Farm Bureau and other Ag groups and the measure provides needed tax help for farmers and ranchers.

She says legislators gave overwhelming backing for the bill with the House approving it on a 100 to 34 vote and the Senate passing it on a 64 to 3 vote.

Glaeser says farmers and ranchers did a good job weighing in with state lawmakers for the need for both the bonding bill and the Section 179 conformity.

Glasser says next up for the Minnesota Farm Bureau is their policy development and state convention where they’ll put their priorities together for the next regular session of the legislature which begins in January.
