Minnesota Soybean Tracking Finance Bills

Minnesota Soybean Growers Association members are tracking finance bills that have moved through both the state House and Senate. The group’s Executive Director Joe Smentek says there are differences between the two versions that have to be worked out.

He says if they can get the Senate version included in the final finance measure it will help them fund a new soybean crush facility in Crookston and improve the basis in that area.

Smentek says the Senate bill would also help them put in a smaller specialty facility near the Crush plant.

Smentek says these value-added projects would benefit growers who are being negatively impacted by the trade war and lack of business with China.
