The Minnesota Soybean Grower’s Association is tracking several pieces of legislation working its way through the state legislature. Association Executive Director Joe Smentek says while they’’re in favor of the bill mandating E-15 use, they’re concerned about another measure that would bring California low carbon standards to the state at the expense of soy biodiesel.
He says they’re also watching to see what happens with various tax issues and hoping to keep gains reached in past sessions.
Smentek says they are concerned about some bills that could lead to more expensive pesticides and tighter regulations.
Smentek says there have been no moves to change the buffer law so that remains in place.
