Minnesota Soybean Association Preparing For State Legislative Session

Minnesota’s state legislative session gets underway next week and the State Soybean Association is focusing initially on four key issues. Director of Public Affairs Joe Smentek says the first one is making sure full implementation of B-20 is achieved as they’re getting close to the finish line for that blend.

He says they’re also looking at needed tweaks to the buffer law and tax conformity with the recent passage of federal tax reform.

He says the next buffer updates involve public ditches. Smentek also says they’ll be trying to counter any legislative attempt that might change what the dicamba task force came up with.

Minnesota lawmakers return to St.Paul Tuesday February 20.
