Minnesota Senator Al Franken says he’s pleased the House has approved the conference report on the farm bill.  He says he helped write the Energy Title in the Senate version of the bill along with Iowa Senator Tom Harkin.  Franken says it provides $ 880 million in funding for needed projects and programs.

Franken says it also provides funding for bio refineries. He says another part of the farm bill he’s very happy with is the support put in for beginning farmers.

He says overall the House passed Farm Bill strengthens the farm safety net, creates jobs and saves money.
