Making childcare more accessible and affordable is a priority of Minnesota Senate Republicans this session. Senator Bill Weber of Luverne says childcare providers are telling him that state government overreach has made it “nearly impossible to operate an in-home childcare or private daycare center.” Weber says it’s a growing concern
Weber also says daycare providers are telling him that universal pre-k would “destroy what’s left of our daycare system.” Governor Tim Walz has been a vocal advocate for universal pre-k.
