The Minnesota Senate, on a vote of 60-6, has passed a bill that dedicates resources to opioid prevention and treatment programs. The bill’s author Republican Senator Julie Rosen of Vernon Center became emotional ahead of the vote

Funding for the bill would come from an increase in licensing fees on opioid manufacturers and distributors. A House version of the bill has already passed.
