A new study shows sharp decreases in the number of crashes after the installation of a roundabout. Derek Leuer with the Minnesota Department of Transportation says the design of the traffic circle is performing as intended.

 

The study of more than 200 roundabouts in the state found an 86 percent decline in fatal crashes, and an 83 percent drop in the number of accidents resulting in serious injury.
