There are 44 fewer road and bridge projects scheduled in Minnesota this year–and about $70 million less will be spent on projects compared to 2015. MnDOT Commissioner Charles Zelle says even though lawmakers seem to agree transportation should be a priority this session, financing continues to be a road block.
There are 246 road projects valued at $930 million scheduled statewide in 2016, and Zelle says most of those are to maintain the existing system.
