Minnesota Republican Rep Not Giving up on Protest Penalty Bill

Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton vetoed a bill this session that would’ve increased the penalty for protests that block highways, airports and transit. But the bill’s main author, Republican Representative Nick Zerwas of Elk River says he’s not giving up…

Dayton, who is not running for reelection this year, said the language in the bill related to transit was “too vague.” Zerwas says Dayton’s veto is another example of his “bending to the will of fringe activists rather than listening to every day Minnesotans.”
