Minnesota Representative Angie Craig spoke this week with Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack and shared her ag priorities for the 117th Congress. Minnesota Farmers Union members met earlier with Craig and many of their suggestions are in her recommendations. Farmers Union Director of Government Relations Stu Lourey says the CFAP 3 program Secretary Vilsack rolled out has many of the Congresswoman’s priorities.

He says MFU and Representative Craig also want expanded markets and a strong safety net in place to help farmers and ranchers going forward.

Lourey says another important ag priority of the administration centers around infrastructure and the President’s plan. He says infrastructure is critical for agriculture both in Minnesota and across the country.

Lourey says his group and Representative Craig also want support for Minnesota’s biofuels industry and shared that concern with the Ag Secretary.
