Minnesota’s dairy farmers will see state rebate payments for the federal Dairy Margin Coverage if they sign up for the five-year program. Minnesota Milk Producers Association President Dave Buck says state lawmakers passed legislation approving $8 million in payments, which reflects an average of $3,000 per farm minimum.

He says the rebate should help encourage dairy producers to sign up for the Dairy Margin Coverage program.

Buck says his group lobbied state lawmakers for the assistance.

Sign up for the Dairy Margin Coverage program begins June 17 and goes through September 20.
