Minnesota Milk Producer Association members are at the State Capital in St. Paul today visiting with state legislators about their priority issues. President Pat Lunemann says they have three major issues they’re concentrating on this year. He says one is how to be able to turn over their operations to the next generation of dairy farmers.
Lunemann says another main priority is getting legislation passed that will contain regulatory reform that will allow producers to more easily access permits.
Lunemann says their third major goal is to find a way to set up a dairy research facility at the University of Minnesota.
Lunemann says their members are making capital visits and he and other Association leaders will appear at both the House Ag Policy Committee hearing and the Senate Jobs, Ag and Rural Development Committee hearing.
