The Minnesota Pork Producers Association held officer elections and their resolution session as part of their annual meeting in Minneapolis this week. MPPA Executive Director Dave Preisler says delegates approved resolutions, including a call for increased state funding for transportation, specifically rural infrastructure.
Preisler says the association also wants a mediation program to be developed by the state in response to various costly nuisance lawsuits against pork producers in the state of Minnesota.
And on the national level the delegates passed resolutions regarding the next farm bill, including funding for land grant university research.
Preisler says Jay Moore of Jackson, Minnesota was also re-elected as president of the Minnesota Pork Producers Association. The annual meeting continues through Wednesday with the trade show and seminars at the Minneapolis Convention Center.
