A Minnesota pork producer has found a way to communicate the message of pork production to consumers through a series of television appearances.  Mike Patterson of Kenyon, Minnesota which is about an hour south of St. Paul, has appeared on KSTP-TV on several occasions during the past year promoting pork through sharing recipe ideas and discussing his pork operation.  Patterson says it is important to tell consumers about his family farming business.  Patterson also appeared on television during the Minnesota State Fair, which he says had instant consumer feedback.  The Goodhue County pork producer says consumers are interested in knowing how pigs are raised, and he believes it leads to additional demand for pork.  Patterson says many consumers don’t know about the variety of pork cuts and different recipes that can utilize fresh pork.
