Edgerton Minnesota Pork Producer and Farmer Randy Spronk has been elected Vice Chairman of the U.S. Meat Export Federation. Spronk had been serving as MEF Secretary Treasurer. He says his experience producing pork and farming matches well with the background needed to represent all U.S.farmers and ranchers at the federation. He sees two major concerns MEF needs to help producers with.
T
He’s pleased the USDA is moving ahead with a pilot project with increasing line speeds at pork slaughtering facilities to collect data that can be given to regulators showing those higher line speeds are safe.
Spronk says there’s a lot of interest in overseas customers purchasing U..S. commodities and wanting every thing to be safe. He says therefore MEF can help assist America’s producers by showing export customers our product is safe and free of A-S-F.
Spronk says he loves serving farmers and ranchers and having this opportunity to work at US. Meat Export Federation gives him that opportunity.
s
Spronk served with NPPC and NPB before joining the U.S. Meat Export Federation.
