Minnesota Passes Hacking Test

Minnesota “passed the test” says Secretary of State Steve Simon after it was reported that Minnesota was one of 21 states unsuccessfully targeted by Russian hackers in the 2016 election. Simon says there was not a breach or attempted breach of the state’s voting website

Simon says the hackers cased I-P addresses–like a car thief casing a parking lot looking for vulnerabilities–but in the end, they opted not to commit a crime. Looking ahead, Simon assures there will be new security features in place for the 2018 election.
