The impact of heavy rains and flooding on Minnesota farm fields varies greatly and officials are still assessing the damage. State Farm Service Agency Executive Director Joe Martin encourages farmers and ranchers to report any damage to their county FSA office.

He says they’re still getting reports from the various counties and haven’t determined the severity of the flood damage.

Martin advises producers to talk to local FSA officials before doing any repairs. They also need to keep good records of the damage experience on their operation.

Martin also reminds producers that the deadline to certify their acres at their county FSA office is Monday July 16.
