High Pathogenic Avian Influenza may finally be slowing down in Minnesota. Minnesota Board of Animal Health Senior Veterinarian Brian Hoeffs says the are cautiously optimistic about the spread of the virus which has hit millions of birds in the state. He says infected flocks have been depopulated within 24 hours and total losses in the state are below those from 2015. Hoeffs says the bird flu virus spread rapidly as it has adapted since 2015. USDA has been working with the Minnesota Department of Animal Health on the depopulation efforts.
