Minnesota officials announced the projected rate changes for health insurance on the individual market for 2018. Commerce Commissioner Mike Rothman says rates range from a decrease of 38-percent, to an increase of less than three-percent. That compares to last year when the average rate increased around 50-percent

Rothman points out the relative stability of the rates is due in part to the state’s new reinsurance program–which is reducing rates by about 20-percent.
