The federal government says Minnesota now fully meets REAL ID requirements for drivers licenses. The state Public Safety Department’s Bruce Gordon says Minnesotans can apply for a REAL-ID-compliant drivers license now, but it’s not required until October 1st, 2020 to board domestic flights and enter federal facilities:
After that date, Minnesotans also have the option of using either a passport or “enhanced drivers license” to board domestic flights or enter federal facilities. The E-D-L can also be used for land and sea border crossings with Canada, Mexico and some Carribean nations.
