Starting today Minnesota motorists have the option of using a B20 biodiesel blend in their vehicles. The state moves from B10 to B20 until the end of September and is the first state in the nation to make this type of biofuels mandate. Minnesota Soybean Growers Association President Michael Petefish says it means significant economic benefits for the state’s soybean farmers.
He says next year there will be a transition period for the ramp up to the B20 blend for the biofuel.
Petefish says the higher biodiesel blend helps the environment, farmers and consumers.
Petefish says it was a joint effort between state legislators, fuel retailers and companies and farmers that enabled biodiesel to go from the B10 to B20 level.
