Ag Secretary Sonny Perdue along with the Secretaries of State Labor and Homeland Security are working together to streamline and simplify the H-2-A agricultural visa program. Minnesota Milk Producers Association President Dave Buck likes the idea and thinks it’ll be beneficial for the dairy industry.

He says dairy producers are having trouble finding enough workers to fill their needs.

The Secretaries want to incentivize farmers use of the E-verify program to make sure that their workforce is legally authorized to work in the United States. Buck says that’s a positive move.

The secretaries of the various agencies are looking forward to rolling out a more responsible program in the near future.
