A Minnesota mental health hotline that was going to close, will keep operating thanks to a last-minute infusion of money from the state. Oakdale-based Canvas Health which operates the Crisis Connection, received nearly 140-thousand dollars from the state Health Department. CEO Matthew Eastwood says the hotline’s mission will carry on:
Eastwood says they were unable to secure funding during the last legislative session but says they will be back before lawmakers next year. Last year alone, the hotline processed around 35-thousand calls.
