Minnesota Human Services Commissioner Tony Lourey says the state will have to step in around March 1st to keep the SNAP (Food Stamp) program going, if the federal government’s partial shutdown continues.  Lourey says about 400 thousand Minnesotans are on the supplemental nutrition program and receive on average 110 dollars a month

Lourey says SNAP recipients are all over the state and are the elderly, children and those with disabilities.
