Minnesota state lawmakers while not wrapping up their legislative session Monday were able to approved ag policy bills in both the House and Senate and send it to the Governor. Minnesota Farm Bureau’s Associate Public Policy Director Josie Lonetti says the Ag Policy legislation will be positive for the state’s farmers and ranchers.
She says also included in the Ag Policy bill is an expansion to the State Board of Animal Health.
Lonetti says House and Senate leaders were also able to put together solid budget targets that includes solid funding for broadband expansion. She says the legislative committees will iron out a final budget from those.
She says lawmakers will be meeting into June and will likely hold a special session on or just before June 14.
