Minnesota Legislative Committees Approve Omnibus Ag Bills

A pair of Omnibus Agriculture funding bills have cleared both Ag Committees in the Minnesota House and Senate. State Farmers Union’s Director of Government Relations Stu Lourey says many of his group’s priorities are included in both measures.

He says the most important provisions in both Omnimbus bills provides funding for small meat processors as well as for meat inspectors and hiring of a meat scientist.

Lourey says farmers union’s been speaking to state legislators about the importance of advancing broadband legislation.

Lourey says they’re also pleased to see the biofuels infrastructure grant program of the Governor’s being considered by lawmakers and want to see that approved.
