State Lawmakers are looking to expand Farm to School programs across Minnesota. The bipartisan legislation would provide school districts with reimbursement for feeding students healthy, local foods and provide technical assistance to farmers looking to bolster their income
Representative Todd Lippert of Northfield says the bill would provide a $2 million annual grant to reimburse schools and early childcare providers based on the number of meals they serve. Minnesota is one of just 12 states nationwide without a statewide Farm to School policy.
