Minnesota Lawmakers Look to Combat Opioid Crisis

Minnesota lawmakers are hoping this session to pass legislation combatting the growing opioid crisis in Minnesota. Senator Chris Eaton from Brooklyn Center lost a daughter to opioid addiction

 

A measure under consideration at the State Capitol now would increase opioid prescription monitoring and charge fees for prescribers. In 2016, nearly 400 Minnesotans lost their lives to opioid overdoses–an 18-percent increase over the year before.
