The Minnesota House cut $ 1.1 billion from the Health and Human Services Financial Budget for the State’s Health Care Program. Land Stewardship Project member Paul Sobacinski says if that holds up it’ll hurt a lot of the state’s farmers and ranchers who depend on that program.
Sobacinski says it’s unconscionable that the cut was made given the fact the state has a $ 2 billion surplus. He says his group’s members will work with conferees to defeat this measure when Representatives and Senators confer on it.
He says the Minnesota Care program came about 20 years ago in a bi partisan legislative effort and helps people above the Medicaid level with their insurance costs.
