Minnesota Health Care Spending Expected to Double by 2024

Health care spending in Minnesota is expected to double by 2024, the rate of increase will ramp up and health care will consume a greater portion of the state’s economy.  State Health Economist Stefan Gildemeister told a legislative committee, that health care for a small share of Minnesota’s population accounts for a large percentage of spending and suggests better care coordination and support services

 

The special committee is charged with making recommendations to the next legislative session.
