This week, leaders of several agricultural groups in Minnesota met and called on the U.S. Congress to ratify the USMCA trade agreement, the remake of NAFTA. Rural and Ag Council of America along with the U.S. Cattlemen’s Association hosted the meeting. Rural and Ag Council’s Liz Frey says all of those who attended support the trade pact.
She says the USMCA is critical not only for the state’s farmers and ranchers but also for Minnesota’s overall economy.
Frey says it’s time for the partisanship bickering over issues in Washington DC TO cease and for federal lawmakers step up to the plate to ratify the USMCA.
Debate on the USMCA is expected to start in the House and then move over to the Senate.
