Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton Asks for Reconsideration on Tax Deductions

Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton is calling on the Trump administration to reconsider a proposal to eliminate tax deductions which would impact roughly 900,000 Minnesotans. Dayton says eliminating the deductions could cost Minnesota families an average of $12,000 per year–totaling more than $12 billion statewide.

Dayton and other Democrats say the Republican tax plan favors the rich and large corporations. House Republicans argue that their plan will bolster the middle class and stimulate the economy. Details of the Republican plan are set to be unveiled later this week.
