Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton was in Madelia and got a first-hand-look at the damage from this week’s fire that leveled several businesses along Main Street. While meeting with affected residents Dayton gave out his phone number, promising the state will do what it can to help the community recover:…

Dayton also said he would issue an executive order to help the owner of a burned-out salon, who said she can’t get permission from a state licensing board to move into temporary quarters. Medelia is a town of about twenty three hundred in southwest Minnesota, midway between St James and Mankato.
