Minnesota Governor Tim Walz along with biofuels industry members are asking the state legislature to approve a measure that creates a biofuels infrastructure grant program. State Ag Commissioner Thom Petersen says the measure came out of the Governor’s Biofuels Advisory group that is focusing on getting more E-15 out to consumers.

He says they’re also hoping to get federal funding support for this grant program and they’re optimistic about its passing given the bi-partisan backing in both the State House and Senate.

Petersen says the biofuels legislation if approved will bring great economic benefits to the state.

He says besides the economic benefits from this measure, it also brings great health benefits.
