Minnesota GOP and DFL Conventions Endorse Governor Candidates

Jeff Johnson is the Minnesota Republican Party’s candidate for governor after this weekend’s state convention in Duluth, but whether he’s on the ballot this November remains to be seen:
That’s because former Governor Tim Pawlenty is running for a third term, skipped his party’s convention and is going directly to the August primary election. Johnson says he’ll beat Pawlenty:
But Pawlenty’s supporters say the real test is the November election and Pawlenty has a better shot at winning back the governor’s office for Republicans.

Representative Erin Murphy received the party endorsement for governor at the Minnesota D-F-L convention in Rochester Saturday. Murphy rallied the faithful with an impassioned speech about unity and Democratic values…

Murphy won the endorsement after a contentious seven rounds of balloting and a push for “no endorsement” from her DFL opponents Congressman Tim Walz and State Auditor Rebecca Otto.
