Minnesota Farmers Union member’s main priority coming out of their just concluded state convention is working with lawmakers to address the depressed ag economy. Farmers Union’s Government Relation’s Director Thom Petersen says proceeding on a new farm bill is the key to accomplishing that goal.
He says their members also want a fix for the dairy margin protection insurance program in the farm bill.
Petersen says one of the state legislative priorities for their members is getting property tax relief.
Petersen says their members are also concerned about the rising cost of health care in Minnesota and want legislators to address that.
