Minnesota Farmers Union members wrapped up their state convention over the weekend. President Gary Wertish says they have several concerns going forward they want addressed. He says two of the top ones have to deal with trade with both resolution of the China Trade War and finishing up the USMCA.

He says one of the fixes that’s needed in the USMCA is the prescription drug component which ties the hands of the U.S to bring down prescription drug prices.

Wertish says at the state level, health care, infrastructure upgrades and broadband access are all key issues that need to be settled.

Wertish hopes state lawmakers come up with a good bonding bill to address infrastructure needs. He says it’s a good time to tackle that with the state having solid funding in their budget and with interest rates being as low as they are.
