The Minnesota Legislature begins their 2014 session in St. Paul today. The State Farmers Union’s priorities are focused on taxes and getting relief for Minnesota’s farmers and ranchers.  Farmers Union’s Legislative Director Thom Petersen says tax rates have risen significantly and are negatively impacting agriculture.

Petersen says there are some possible tax fixes that can be attempted that will lessen agriculture’s burden.

Petersen says they have good support in repealing the tax on farm equipment, repair and labor from both Governor Mark Dayton and several legislators.
