Claremont, Minnesota corn and soybean farmer Bruce Schmoll has been elected chairman of the U.S. Meat Export Federation. Schmoll says he became interested in livestock serving on local farm group boards prior to becoming a member of the Minnesota Soybean Growers Association.

He says his goal is to help the U.S. livestock industry grow globally.

Schmoll says there are great value added and export market opportunities for both grain and livestock producers.

Schmoll raises corn and soybeans on 1,000 acres on his farm in southeast Minnesota. He also has a small vineyard and Christmas tree plantation.
