The Minnesota Legislature is winding down its 2018 session with adjournment expected Sunday evening. State Farmers Union members are watching several ag related measures as the session wraps up. Farmers Union Government Relations Director Thom Petersen says they range from federal tax conformity, to funding for the Rural Finance Authority and Mental Health Counseling to Road Ditch Mowing and adjustments to the Buffer Law.

He says the most concerning ag issue is making sure there’s legislative agreement on federal tax conformity.

Petersen does the expect the ditch mowing legislation which delays permit enforcement for another year to get sent to the Governor this week.

Petersen says there will a lot of movement on legislation during this last week of the 2018 session with everything advancing quickly.
