Minnesota lawmakers are less than two weeks away from their legislative session which starts next month. One of the challenging issues for agriculture will be the budget. That’s according to Minnesota Farmers Union’s Government Relations Director Thom Petersen.
Petersen says with a split government with the Republicans controlling the House and the Democrat Farmer Labor party in charge of the Senate, compromise will be not only a key but also a challenge.
Petersen says another key issue for his group is working for property tax relief which has been a burden on farmers and ranchers.
